Many of the rooms have inviting terraces, where the gaze wanders over the gently rolling hills and valleys of Es Pla Roig taking in the traditional Mediterranean landscape of almond, locust and fig trees, the lush greens of the pine forests and meadows, and the warm dark-red tones of the soil. In the distance, the sea and the old town of Ibiza provide the perfect backdrop.

The immediate surroundings of the farmhouse are dreamlike: whilst swimming in the pool or sunning on the wide, open terrace, the view is of fertile orange and lemon trees, a well-tended garden with palms, oleander, bougainvillea and camomile.

Day trips to the island's interior or to the beaches are all just a short trip from Can Planells. Es Amunts, in the north of the island, is practically untouched nature and has maintained its unique beauty. The village of Sant Miquel is about one km. away. It became the additional name of 'Balansat' during the Catalan conquest of 1235. The majestic fortress church crowns a rise overlooking the city and surrounding countryside. Other attractive villages like San Juan, Sant Llorenç, Santa Gertrudis, Sant Mateo and Santa Agnès are all easily accesible. On the coast, idyllic coves await your arrival, like the Cala d’ Aubarca, es Portixol, Na Xamena, the harbour of Sant Miquel or Cala Benirrás.
